I wanted to tell you what an awesome and informative Panda web-site that you have created. I am so impressed about your dedication and love for Pandas, that you have helped me to decide to make a donation to the WWF and adopt a Panda.
I am one of many adults who are big fans of Kid Nation and the 40 amazing kids who built Bonanza City. I really feel positive about the youth in our country after watching Kid Nation. I was very impressed on how you all came together as a family of friends and especially how responsible and hard working you and Olivia are. One of the most touching scenes I have seen, was when you won the gold star and called home. Best wishes on all of your future goals and dreams, Mallory. Remember to always choose the right and stay true to your Christian beliefs and values.

Jim, thank you so much for giving to save the pandas, there are less than 1 thousand left in the wild. So they need our help.

There were some times on the show when it really felt like a family and others when I thought this is nothing like my family. (yelling and screaming times) The call home was amazing because I could talk to my parents on my birthday.

Do you still have your actual Gold Star that you won on the show? Have you decided to save or spend your money that you won?

Yes, I still have the gold star that I got on the show. My parents said that Olivia and I could spend $500 each. I bought an Ipod, a pink Nintendo DS, and a Nintendogs game (see bottom of page for picture). Olivia got a red Nintendo DS and a Fashion Show game so far. My Mom and Dad said that we had to give some of our money to charity. The rest of the money is going for college.

We enjoyed Kid Nation, and really like your website. We love pandas as well, along with otters and snakes, too. We hope you're enjoying being back at school, and are studying hard. (And not making goo-goo eyes at too many of those cute Indiana boys...lol)
If you and your family ever come to Atlanta, be sure and go see the pandas at Zoo Atlanta. They are truly wonderful animals.

There are 3 zoos in the United States that I know about who have Pandas: Atlanta, San Diego and Washington D.C. That's cool that you have Panda's so close. Hi Mallory. I am from Australia and I like pandas as well. Your site is amazing and very interesting. You were great on Kid Nation as well as your sister. Tell her that her comedy was very cool. I am in grade 9 this year and I want to be on Kid Nation if it comes to Australia.
p.s. It would be awesome if you put more kid nation stories about your experiences on the site.

Since Mallory is at school right now I'll answer your email. Good luck with the casting process in takes a long time for most. Olivia's comedy routine was edited significantly for television and she felt that her best material didn't make the show. But thank you for the kind words. I've asked Mallory to write more about her experiences and you should see a new article in the coming days.

I think it's cool that you like Panda too cause there aren't a lot of people who care about them. Do you have Koala's in Australia? They are my second favorite animal.

I loved the part of the episode where you talked about your faith and how its important to you because I'm a Christian and it was good to see some Christians on the show. What is the name of your devotional book that you had on the show because I'm looking for a devotional for my little sister who is your age and I was just wondering what kind you used? I can't wait to see where your life takes you because you are an amazing little girl."

Thank you. The devotional I read was called Girlz Rock, Faithgirlz. My faith is really important wherever I am, even when I couldn't go to church like at Bonanza City. Thanks for watching Kid Nation. It was a great experience for me, even though it was tough sometimes. Hunter was another Christian on the show, who was strong in his faith.
